A new take on a big floral

Well, since I can’t really paint murals as a watercolor artist (no matter how much sealant I use, I think it’s a losing battle to the elements) I can always do a painting of someone painting a mural.

“Creating Sunshine” 22x30 Watercolor on paper. It’s a reminder that behind all the creative creations we encounter daily, is someone putting brush to paper, putting in the work, taking risks, spreading joy, and creating this sunshine.

It’s a different direction for a big floral piece, and it took a looooong time, lots of layers, and patience. But I thiiiink we might be onto something rad here. It’s rare for me to ever really like a piece, but I like this one.

So much joy in creating art, bringing a wall (or in this case, a piece of paper) to life, and having fun with paint. Especially the splatters and drips. (Be sure to check out the detail pics)

The original and prints are in the shop. Or, I think this would make a SWEET massive canvas if anyone out there is in the mood for a custom order.

Yay art, and cheers to everyone bring handmade beauty into this crazy world.

**A huge thank you to Jerry’s Artarama for the oh-so lovely review on the piece, too. Made my day. And they also happen to be my favorite place to get art supplies. Double day made.
